Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were playing in the dusty yard of St Theresa's Convent High School. Some of us were playing a game of rounders, volley ball, basket ball, kick ball or marbles; some just standing around catching up with gossip from the day before; some comparing notes on the previous nights’ assignment; some making plans for recess activity… whatever it was we were doing, it seems like it was just yesterday. If yesterday can be described as 30, 40 or maybe 50 years then, it was just yesterday. Where, indeed, has the time gone?
While a lot has changed and Convent High school as we knew it is no more, the bonds we share as part of that special CHS community are indestructible. The old buildings have been torn down. The classrooms; the play ground; the old lime tree; the volley ball court; the basket ball court; the “big tree” on the upper level; all our nooks and crannies where we stood around and shared our lives; all gone! In their stead is a brand spanking new building complex with state of the art facilities. St Joseph (Roman School) and St Theresa's Convent High (Convent High) have been merged into one school called the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS). Although time has moved on and a new era has begun, we can still joyously embrace the change while proudly celebrating our past.
